The effort of stand out and to be successful in the fashion world and production is well known to Apparel & Textile Magazine. If our guest is either a celebrity or is starting to work in this wonderful World, one in which only the best succeed, Apparel & Textile Magazine will continue to support their values and publish their dreams, goals, and aspirations.
This time we will speak with one of those characters that surge from the fantasy and the light: Maamri Farouk .
"I'm 24 year old and I'm model from France. I'm a full time model for over one year and I finally found my dream job. Today I work a lot in France and around to win more experiences", he said.
Apparel &Textiles Magazine (A&TM): In the runway world, most of the time the stars are always women. How do you feel about this as a male model?
Maamri Farouk(MF) : That is my biggest motivation. I want to show that in the world of fashion we can find a real place for male models.
A&TM:. How did your family react when you chose to become a model?
MF: They believe in me and my work but for each family it is always difficult to accept this way easily. There is no certainty. But I’ll show to them that I’ll make a success of it .
A&TM: What do you prefer the most: Runway or photography studio model? .When you look at the camera, what goes through your head?
MF: I prefer “photography studio model”. For me photos allow me to express a party of myself without speaking. I want to give a different message in every photo by working my expression, my look, my feelings or else with the choice of my clothes. A photo must portray a definite emotion.
A&TM: What kind of fabric and texture do you prefer?
MF: I’m not really a fashion designer to judge that. But my favorite texture is the leather, velvet and steel. With this texture and a good lighting we can have good pictures ;-)
A&TM: How do you regard competition?
MF: There isn’t a really competition. Everybody gives his work and the best always wins…So when I’m not the best I work more to become better.
A&TM: Do you feel there is a disloyal competition in the fashion world?
MF: I think that there is big inequality. Certain ethnic groups are more asked than others even if in finale each one has a more or less important place. Perfect example is to look “profile” represented in agencies. They are all very similar. But it doesn’t prevent from succeeding.
